Warp Inlet is a proposal created for Williamsburg Inlet in Brooklyn, New York. The seven acre waterfront parcel houses ten former oil derricks from Astral Oil Works, an oil refinery created along the East River during the height of the Brooklyn Industrial Revolution in 1876. Now derelict and neglected the site is the last remaining parcel along the waterfront.
Combining methods inspired by dazzle cameoflage, weaving and modular paving, Warp Inlet uses pattern to differentiate the urban wild and tidal waterfront.
